Keynvor Morlift Ltd (KML) are specialists in the provision of near-shore and offshore marine operations and services. The Company is adept at working in challenging environments and has an established background in marine renewable energy construction and civil engineering projects. In addition to specialist marine services, KML offers independent consulting and project management, including engineering design packages and feasibility studies. The Company also has close links to the mineral extraction sector in the UK and Europe and is a notable member of the Cornwall Mining Alliance.
KML has recently supplied and delivered armour stone from France to Slaughden Beach in Suffolk, as part of new sea defences, on behalf of the Environment Agency (EA). The Company’s recently acquired flat-top barge (‘Mormaen 15’) was mobilised from Cornwall as a rock carrier. Loading and unloading of the rock armour was tide-dependant and performed using 45te swing-shovels with rock grabs.
Following the success of this operation, the KML team are looking forward to performing many more projects using the Mormaen 15 from their Cornish sites at Falmouth Wharves and Par. The Company purchased the deep-water site at Falmouth Wharves earlier this year, with assistance from Cornwall Marine Capital Fund – a Regional Growth Fund. The site is a superb base for their local operations and a launch pad for KML projects further afield. It will be strategic in the development of marine renewable energy and employment in the region.
